It Takes a Barrio: Rebuilding Communities
By Daniela Johns
You’ve heard the famous rags to riches stories.
You’ve seen children rise from small communities to global stages.
But before that, there was a Barrio, a community that believed in them.
Success begins with support, opportunity, and a safe place to grow.
You invest in more than a program
The Good Bunny Foundation, established in 2018, invests in the future and quality of life for the children in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We believe they are something.
You provide them with access to the arts, music, sports, and equipment that some children may not have had otherwise. You give them an outlet to play. You allow them to be kids. You give them instruments to play, fields to practice on, and spaces to feel seen.
When you fund this program, you help build and create an environment where a child can discover who they are and who they might become. Whoever they may be! You help shape the next story of resilience, determination, and possibility. You help foster small communities giving access to those who need it.
You Strengthen the Barrio
Your support does more than impact individual children. It becomes a network that strengthens families and builds community.
By providing a safe space for kids to learn, create, and grow, you help keep families connected and informed. You foster pride in Puerto Rican identity. You reinforce the idea that opportunity exists not just somewhere else, but right here at home. You help build opportunities for children to dream bigger.
When children feel supported in their own community, they grow up being kinder, stronger, and supportive members of society. That is our goal.
You Help Write the Next Story
The children you support today could become tomorrow’s teachers, entrepreneurs, artists, or leaders. Who knows, in a few years, they could be teaching you something!
When you invest in them now, you help build confidence, creativity, and purpose that will show them they are enough.
You aren’t just donating. You are rebuilding a barrio. A childhood. A family. A country.
That impact is immeasurable.
